Green Tea

Green tea is one of the most popular teas available on today’s market. The benefits of green tea are astounding. There are also many varieties of green tea available. There is no evidence of serious side effects of green tea, either, making it a tasty drink with no worry.

Green tea benefits the body in many ways. It is helpful in the treatment of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, lowering high cholesterol levels, cardiovascular disease, impaired immune functions and healing infections. Researchers are finding if one is drinking green tea, weigh loss occurs. In addition to green tea, diet, when proper, is essential to losing and maintaining a healthy weight. It also increases the blood flow, which Chinese herbalists believe assist in the growth of hair.

There are many types of green tea. Loose leaf green tea, Arizona green tea, Japanese green tea and Chinese green tea are available. Lipton green tea is also a delicious option. Green tea is available in grocery stores, drug stores, and health food stores. Most restaurants carry green tea now as more and more patrons are drinking green tea.

There are two ways of brewing green tea. Loose leaf green tea requires a tea ball, available at most stores, and it acts as a tea bag, allowing water to sift through the holes and steep. Tea bags are another way of brewing tea. Generally, one teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup of water used is the typical brewing strength.

The benefits of green tea extract are plenty. Green tea extract increases metabolism, which in turn causes you to lose weight. Green tea is also good for thyroid disease, which is also a cause for hair loss.

Oolong, black, and green tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant. It is how it is processed that makes green tea different. Oolong and black are fermented tea leaf, green tea leaf is steamed. By steaming the tea leaves, it keeps the important components from oxidizing. Oxidization of the tea leaves destroys their beneficial components.

There have been no reported side effects of green tea. Be aware that green tea has caffeine, which can keep you up at night, however it has less caffeine than coffee. Green tea is also available caffeine free; however, it may not have the same benefits of regular tea. Several cups of green tea during the day and abstaining from drinking it in the evening should allow you to sleep at night comfortably.
